Beaford Arts Tongues of Fire

Beaford Arts and Tongues of Fire present …

The Village Band

“The British excel in dancing and music, for they are active and lively: they are vastly fond of great noises that fill the air, such as the firing of cannon, drums, and the ringing of bells” - Paul Henzer 1605

A long time ago, every village had its own band - local folk who came together to make a great noise in streets, halls, churches and public houses. This Autumn, nationally-renowned street band Tongues of Fire are bringing it back!

Over the summer, the people of Burrington and Berrynarbor have been working hard to prepare a Village Band procession especially for the place they live. At the beginning of October, they invite you to join them for a village-wide evening of music, processions, food and fun for everyone from kids to grandparents.

The events are led by artists and musicians Tim Hill and Dan Fox, both formerly of Welfare State Theatre, along with their band Tongues of Fire. In the week running up to the procession, Tim, Dan and their team will be working intensively with village groups to create magical sculptures, dazzling music, and a Saturday evening to remember.

Berrynarbor - 3rd October

Burrington - 10th October
