Ever wanted to learn how to be silly and get away with it?

Well some Year 8 students from Park Community School, Pilton Community College, Bideford College and Braunton Academy had the chance to do just that on Friday with physical theatre and clown masters, Sean Kempton and Joey Holden.

Sean and Joey have spent much of their career travelling the world working with major international circus and cabaret companies, including Cirque du Soleil. Sean grew up in north Devon, so it was exciting that Beaford Arts could welcome him back to his roots and give him a new generation of drama enthusiasts to work with!

Sixty north Devon students had the opportunity to learn from the masters about physical devising, improvisation and play, and performed some sketches as part of an energetic and action packed day at Pilton Community College.

The session working with masks and physical theatre storytelling was a big hit, generating some huge laughs.

An inspiring and creative day…dreams and hopes of making the big time are always possible!
