Beaford Arts Beaford Arts - Image by Dave Green

Welcome to Beaford Arts.

For over 45 years, we have worked with artists to engage with north Devon’s land and its people. Begun in 1971 by Roger Deakins (now a BAFTA award-winning cinematographer), the Beaford Archive was built from 1972-1989 by artist and photographer James Ravilious into a collection of over 80,000 images. We are uniquely fortunate to have this at the heart of our ongoing development.

Through our rural touring event scheme, running from Hartland to West Anstey, Woolacombe to Winkleigh – across 1350 square miles of rural north Devon bounded by the Atlantic and the moors, Beaford Arts promotes professional performing arts events in non-traditional venues. Moving, enthralling, laugh-out-loud funny – live events are a unique experience every time.

We work with promoters across north Devon to bring the right events to the right places; their help and support is what makes these opportunities available to our communities. You’ll find details of what’s on this season in the events section.
