Developing a Cultural Education Partnership in Devon

As you can see in our photograph from the Beaford Archive over 30 years ago, things have changed in the education world, and arts and culture locally, and through technology, provides all ages with opportunities to access the arts.

In such a large rural region, we are actively participating in the Cultural Education Challenge set by Arts Council England. We achieve this in the way that we work with our schools and communities in North Devon, in partnership with other organisations, and together, across Devon, we are committed to developing the Cultural Education Partnership for our region.

We are working across Devon with DAISI, Theatre Alibi and Petroc, approximately 20 arts and cultural organisations to date, as well as schools across Devon to discuss and develop our active and artistic response to the Cultural Education Challenge for, and with, 0-25s.

At this stage we are working with Arts Council England and the Real Ideas Organisation to put an action plan together for Devon, and with the broad range of organisations involved, we are all aiming to get a regional voice representative of the breadth of arts and cultural opportunity across Devon.
